Waterfront bike
Powered by locobike, the Central-Wan Chai Waterfront will test the bicycle-pedestrian sharing trail this month. 30 bicycles and balance bikes can be borrowed for free.
What is Waterfront bike
HKSAR government has been actively promoting the sharing of seaside space. Starting Aug, 2022, an automatic bicycle borrowing system will be installed along a 1-kilometer-long waterfront between Zhongwan and Wanchai. Citizens can borrow 30 bicycles through the mobile app, including tricycles, balance bikes, children’s cars, etc for free. This project is operated by locobike.

The total length of the shared trail is 1 km. An automatic bicycle borrowing system has been added for a trial period of one year. There are bicycle stations at Pier 10 in Central and Lung Wo Road in Wanchai. The opening hours are from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm.
Initially, 30 bicycles will be provided. There are 3 tricycles, 3 balance bikes, 3 auxiliary reel bicycles, 15 adult bicycles and 6 children’s bicycles. Citizens can make reservations through the mobile app.
The interface will display the number of borrowed vehicles. Red means less than 5 vehicles, and green means more. For 5 bicycles, the bicycle rental fee is free, but a deposit of HKD100 must be paid in advance.
